The community is very friendly, since I do have quite a few friends that I visit and hang out with from time to time. The stores in this area are your basic stores where you can buy everything you need, so that is good as well. Overall it's a pretty decent place that I enjoy living in. My wife and I recently had our home built by Hour Homes and couldn't be happier. We met with a few builders in the area and selected Hour Homes for the following reasons. We appreciated the upfront nature of the sales staff and being open about cost and upgrade prices.
It hasn't been quite a year that we've been in our beautiful home and still love it every day. My family and I just moved to Stafford county in Virginia. We came from Florida because of my father's job.

They are nothing more than large piles of dirt covered with wild grass and weeds everywhere. They are very unsightly and every home owner in this community has a huge issue with these dirt mounds. If my wife and I had known about the builders intensions to leave these large dirt mounds throughout the community we would have never signed a contract. There are not many growth opportunities for professionals, the area is very expensive, and rent is almost double from the houses in Florida. But if you meet people that work in areas you are interested in, you are more likely to be able to prosper. Most people in the community are more than willing to lend a helping hand and introduce you to other people to reach your goals. The schools are wonderful and they accept every individual from different backgrounds without hesitation. They strive to involve and acknowledge changes and diversity, making students feel accepted.

Stafford county has been quite the journey. The schools aren't the best, with the lack of respect for students and lack of diversity as well. Traveling in Stafford is also quite hard because there tends to be a lot of traffic all day which makes people late to work, to shop, and for buses to drop kids off at school.
The traffic is also very bad with all the people who live here. I love being at home with my family and meeting new people here. There are many job opportunities, especially for recent college graduates. The absolute most bizarre thing I've ever seen a builder do. There are 7 large dirt mounds the builder is leaving behind and refers to them as "Irish Rolling Hills". If that was his intent he failed miserably.
Our political leaders care for their citizens and hold town meetings so everyone is on the same page with local issues. Stafford County is a great, simple, and progressing community. We are getting a lot more new developments, and buildings because our population is growing tremendously.
People in the area are generally friendly. We come from a military family so it’s nice to be close to military base. Over the years I have played recreational and travel soccer through the county. Each year the organization becomes more and more organized. The teachers that I have had throughout my years in public school have been amazing.
The community is so welcoming and a safe environment for kids. There are a few things that needs to be changed. If you want to do something fun then you would have to go outside of Stafford County. Also, all the schools are very overcrowded.
I can't think of a teacher that didn't improve my way of thinking and learning. I loved working with Kristin and Justin so much through the building process, that I actually became an Hour Homes employee and assistant to Justin and Kristin. I have lived in Stafford County for 5 years. There are 3 main positives that I can say about this community. Quiet living, affordable, and simple life. Your everyday routine will be made slightly better living here due to how easy it is to live here. The schools are excellent, the neighborhoods are safe, and the people are friendly. One day, if I wanted to raise my family here I would without a doubt.
